A Contemporary Conformist Ad invaded my Instagram feed.

It’s so hard living in our Contemporary Conformist society, where everything is trying to contemporarily conform. Mainstreamers, self-perceived artisans, and major brands are all the same–they are all trying to appeal to the subconscious desire to conform to contemporary aesthetics.

I was scrolling thru my Instagram feed the other day, which I use to stay on top of the Contemporary Conformist restaurants, bakeries, craft cocktail bars, paleterias, carnecerias, artisan shaved gelato cremes, roasting companies and coffee shoppes when I couldn’t help but notice a piece of sponsored content by a ‘mainstream’ whiskey company.

Even though Maker’s Mark might be a lil bit more ‘niche’ seeming than ‘Jack Daniels’, ‘Jameson’, or that shitty Kentucky one, it was still sorta weird 2 see this sponsored recipe invade my feed. Maybe I can go to my local farmer’s market to get some mint. Maybe I can find a craft ice dealership, where they only sell ice in cubes, spheres, and DNA-wave strands of goodness that minimize ice meltage and use artisan-crafted water.

Do I need a ‘lil pile of blow’, too?

Just want a Contemporary Conformist event 2 chill at, sitting around with ‘wealthy’ ppl talking abt our ‘interests.’ We are not in2 the NFL, unless we live in a 3rd tier American city where the team has ‘become part of our identity’ and ‘represents’ something that ‘brings our community together’ to support our artisan-wave team [via ppl in Green Bay Wisconsin who wear cheese on their helmets].
