What if a 300x250px ad zone popped up on a website, presenting you with a link to purchase vibes? The vibes seemed like vibes you had experienced before…only they were captured (humanely), raised on a free range, grass fed + antibiotic-free vibe food, jarred, sealed for freshness, and shipped with a minimal carbon footprint 2 your doorstep/local retailer.

Would you purchase those vibes?

I used 2 assume that vibes were ALWAYS naturally occurring. Vibes were inherently pure. Stumbling into this banner ad has me thinking that either vibes can be manufactured in order 2 scale… OR vibes are being stolen and sold. I am worried that some of the vibes I am experiencing might be made in the 3rd world [via China/India]. Or that vibes are being scientifically altered, sorta like how there is ‘year round farming’ except that most of the stuff made out of season/shipped from another hemisphere ‘totally sux’, which is why farmer’s markets are so scalable.

I dove in2 this Levi’s ad campaign. It seems like ‘the same old stuff.’ I guess I just feel like music and culture aren’t connected. I don’t believe that life is a series of experiences that can be pieced 2gether in2 a narrative 2 make urself believe that jeans matter.

I guess every now and then, you need to look at your vibe-o-sphere and ask urself, “Are my vibes TRULY pure?”

How do you even capture vibes? Like, are vibes just in the ether? Then some1 goes with a butterfly catching net 2 capture vibes?

What if ur fave scalable indie band was attached? They were able to sell their vibes 2 make more money than they would playing a show 2 their most loyal fans, putting some $$$ in their pocket. Would u buy the vibes then? Could u ‘rationalize’ that purchase?

I’m not haimstream [via scalable]. Dummies in Middle America cannot use their ‘nostalgic experiences’ from youth 2 construct a reasonable narrative abt why they ‘relate’ 2 me. I do not believe in an enriched pop_cultural existence that ‘roots’ my identity n e where.

I mean, u’ve had those b4, right? They seem chill enough. Maybe u can go to a festival and scrape some more of those vibes up off the ground? That would be pretty vibey, right? Get some coconut water as a handout on the way out of the festival grounds. Seems chill.

I know indie ‘has commercialized/become a sponsored experience’ [via 2k6 thinkpieces]… I’m just sorta sad that vibes are no longer pure.

Should I no longer ‘vibe out’?
Should I just ‘auth out’?
