Checking in with Carles.Buzz Goals & My Eternal Artistic Crisis

artistic-crisis
Hello, It’s Carles. Checking in with the ‘true fans.’ Not the ppl clicking here just because they were ‘linked’ and want to ‘feel kewl’ by knowing about a page on the internet.

Thanks again for all of the positive vibe emails and your contributions to the evolving theory of Contemporary Conformity.

I just want to ‘stay honest’ with my readers. I want them 2 know what is ‘going thru my head’ [via ‘remaining transparent’]. I am just 1 bro. I have nowhere to turn, and I am often not sure how interested I am in the internet. People email me and tell me ‘to keep fighting the good fight’ against Online Media and Contemporary Conformists.

What is the ‘goal’ of Carles.Buzz?
How often should I write a bloggy post?
How much content do ppl want/need from me?
Do I need to utilize the habits of scaling [via perpetual and infinite content]?
How do you even create true fans that want to read your words on the internet?
Is Carles.Buzz dependent upon Contemporary Conformism to ‘scale’?
The ‘bigger’ the Contemporary Conformist backlash gets, does this site ‘get bigger’/’more influential’?
Am I trying to ‘monetize’ this website?
How many ppl in the world can even ‘get’ this content?
Do I need to ‘invent’ a mechanism to get people who generally like this content to ‘come back’ every so often?
Do I only need to publish ‘prolific’ posts?
Does posting music/art even matter?
Or does every1 just interpret art/music as ‘trends’ these days?
Is media ‘not that bad’ / the same as always?
Why do I even need to self-identify as ‘an artist’?
Do people even like auth music that appeals to my brain chemistry?
I still find things to be ‘beautiful’ and want to share things that I enjoy with people, whether or not my tastes are ‘relevant’ or ‘visionary’–is this ‘worth it’ or ‘unrealistic’?
I want to type words on the internet, not because I want to ‘influence’, but because it is a format of ‘me’ existing in the world in a ‘pure form’, sorta like Bruce Jenner.
Is Bruce Jenner the most auth human being of all time?
What ‘version of the world’ do ppl want ‘commentary’ on?
What is ‘important’?
Why do I want to create a content stream that is ‘important’ relative’ to other content streams?
What are we in search of?
Is there a search?
Do you ever just wish you were an enslaved Dubai worker?
Is my webpage ‘ugly’?
Are the people who call Carles.Buzz ugly ppl who just want to see tons of places to click on tablet based computers?
Can ppl read the words easily?
What else do you want on Carles.Buzz?
How often do you come to Carles.Buzz?
Why do I keep coming back to Carles.Buzz?
Why do you keep coming back to Carles.Buzz?
Who are ‘the real readers’ of Carles.buzz?
How do I keep those ppl happy [via ‘getting it’]?

Please comment and email with positive/negative feedback.

The answer to most of your questions is quality not quantity. Keep up the amazing, auth work, bb.

I would like to see more ‘funnie’/’viral’ posts making fun of societal trends so I can share them with my netstream friends/colleagues/romantic partners

‘the netstreamer’? listicle parodies? carles.buzz needs more playful/relatable humor tbh

  • Christopher

Hey bro. Do you feel like scaling?
Don’t force yourself to write. Just do it if you think you have a chill topic you want to write about. Just feel it all around.

2-3 posts per week would be chill. Posting about random auth bands lost in the void of soundcloud & bandcamp is okay, but not the central focus of your ‘personal brand’—you are an ‘op-ed commentator’ first, tastemaker second.

Feel free to respond to comments, tweet, or maybe occasionally send emails to your core readers who signed up to receive ‘nothing matters’—embrace the fine balance between being elusive and approachable. Keep us ‘guessing’; don’t be too predictable (not everything has to scale.) Deconstructing ‘culturally relevant’ contemporary conformist trends through the carles™ lens is always appreciated. Don’t overthink stuff; stay auth or nothing matters.

    In summary:

    -controversy = +++
    -waxing philosophical = +++
-reporting on blatant ‘cash grabs’ by corporate brands attempting to reach the contemporary conformist crowd = +++
    -meta-analysis of ‘viral’ think pieces = +++
-Investigating the ‘sound’ of contemporary conformity = +++++

Keep writing cultural criticism from your awesome, distinct, super insightful point of view. Make it scale by tricking out the website a little more. But keep content the same, as it is now, no compromises.

  • Sierra

tbh i think carles.buzz is visually ‘uglie’
also, i don’t think scaling and monetizing is necessarily a bad thing, as long as u don’t hold back from saying and doing what u truly want in order to scale and monetize more. that would be nauth.
imo u should just post whatever u feel like posting, music, videos, fashion, food, whatevs. i think true fans are here bc they care abt what u think abt things, not so much abt said things per se.
    btw answer my email pls
    i <3 u 4 evr

i like how the site looks now

i like music posts and plays via auth lamb

  • dat_bro06

The best approach would be 2 continue catering to random bro’s who are here because they think you are a funnie social critic.

Posts such as ‘FUCK The Lumineers’, ‘I am trying to save my alt business’, and ‘Black Friday and Cyber Monday Make Me Feel Like I Am Trapped in the Mid-to-Lower Class’.

These posts will leak out into the general public and you can parlay the ensuing viral buzz into a book deal and appearances on post _ daily show wave TV shows for ‘thoughtful contemp conformies / libs’

carles bb dont feel bad that youve gotten your mojo back and ur writing things that lots of people agree with. its ok. its cool.

is Rob Horning (writer of Marginal Utility blog) the ‘adult’ Carles? http://thenewinquiry.com/blogs/marginal-utility/

  • marrr

I think not necessarily posting every 2-3 days is a kind of necessity for your blog not to turn into a content mill. Isn’t it weird though, how you just created some content posing questions that all lead to the essential that is if you should write at all? In a way, it would be forced content. On the other hand, it is forced thinking, which is just immune to bad connotation. That’s how you get to things, ideas, right?
P.S. I don’t mind the look of the page, actually, I find it refreshing. Substance over style anytime.

Carles BB, end the artistic crisis and post again!

  • momilli

the poetry/cultural_commentary is the best stuff you do ! lines like ‘my heart is feeling it/and my me is being it’ and ‘the good times are killing me/the bad times are killing me/the asbestos may or may not be killing me’ from hro really ‘stuck out’ (via contempoconformie workshop feedback)

feel like the hro memorable post about pashy pit/ppl using teach for america to repay student loans ‘foreshadowed’ the carles.buzz vibe

  • Ry

    more unchill azn bro plz

  • Ce Ele

.buzz feels like ‘a fresh breath of air’ while keeping ‘the old carles’ and like ‘the right move’ after the rise and fall of HRO. it’s what we all wanted imo. if you want to monetize thats ok.

  • PalXIII

I’ve read so many of your posts and honestly re: “Do I need to utilize the habits of scaling [via perpetual and infinite content]?”

You’re fine, I think you’ve set a good model for staying true 2 urself. Now you’ve amassed a fanbase that shares your ethos and will scale it for u, u don’t have to do much of the heavy lifting anymore

  • Shaun

just stumbled onto your work, great stuff. You’ve managed to articulate what i’ve been feeling in my head for some time now. You’ve inspired me.

  • Chronlito

ur biggest problem is the picture thing. Cut urself off from that n u will never look back

  • frisbyrat

I want to watch somebody kill you. I’m not joking.

  • vavavampire

Everything you write about happened to everyone else every time the money ever found out about the scene. Just stay punk, yo. Sounds trite but it’s real. You’re not gonna be on the level of the people who successfully cashed in, but they will eventually get dropped and you’ll have a culture behind you as long as you stay real. Keep it up, bro.
