How scalable is PC Music?

Does PC Music deconstruct dance music as a medium?

While Sophie’s “Hey QT” and “Lemonade” are widely regarded as the top PC Music songs by netstreamers, I am a bigger fan of AG Cook and Hannah Diamond because I am pretty auth. AG Cook’s “Beautiful” is truly ‘beautiful’, a song abt love, time, and the evolution of the human spirit within the context of a relationship.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d ‘bang the shit’ out of that Sophie mannequin to feel her energy drink flavored pussie. That’s why u gotta love the deconstruction of a female singer.

    PC Music is not scalable because it is too conceptual. It is sort of like normcore. Nobody believes in it directly, they just write pieces about it saying that other people believe in it. In a way, this is how all culture works, but in a way, it is really obvious with some things. I feel like PC Music and normcore are completely netstream even though they r not scalable. It is like they swam so far up the net stream that they lost themselves. They are net elite. Alt lit actually falls into this category too despite what i bullshited yesterday. They are all incomprehensible to mainstreamers and merely comprehended (not authentically appreciated) by the netstream. PC Music does not rlly feel interesting to me at all. Normcore is actually a pretty good ideology 4 our time; it is rlly condescending, but that is acually how cultural exchange works (like ur racist white friend who likes rap music ironically, then starts to like it seriously, then becomes less racist). Alt lit is shittie but completely necessary. It is already hard to imagine today’s world without that concept even though it is super marginal.

    I admit, I’m one of those dudes that doesn’t get PC Music but I think its supposed to be just fun music that doesn’t take itself seriously. Yeah, it is kind of gimmicky but I think it works. My perception is PC Music is just doing things their way and this type of sound is their trademark, so maybe that is what makes them auth. (I also admit I thought Dreamtrak – Odyssey, Pt. 2 (A. G. Cook Remix) was really infectious and I could not get it out of my head throughout 2014).

    But I put it in perspective to music I “get”. At the other end of the musical spectrum is progressive rock which average mainstream music listeners “don’t get” and most pretentious music listeners would find “pretentious” and “obnoxious”. But, it’s finally become “cool” the past few years to listen and openly like progressive rock. I mean, Rush finally became “cool” after 30+ years of making music their way and not really giving a fuck. And even further down the spectrum is jazz fusion. I guess my point is, it’s music that may take many listens “to get” and enjoy by certain people who also appreciate what the artists are doing, which is their own thing.

        BB, I didn’t say it was cool. I said it was “cool”. When the demasculation of men became a trend and “nerds” emerged as the new “cool” 4 or 5 years ago, Rolling Stone and other once detractors had a change of heart, and started caring about Rush and progressive rock all of a sudden. Actors and celebrities that were fans, started coming out of the closet. If the music wasn’t cool, it was certainly “cool” to say you liked it because it was “cool”. You can at least admit now you like prof rock and it be accepted without the same ridicule you experienced in the 70’s and 80’s.
