Auth Dance Music

I was listening to the latest Classixx ‘unreleased’ mp3, “Valley Vacation.” It really took me on an auth dance vibe. A vibe that eventually ends up in a post-m83-midnite-city-sax-solo. Maybe the city isn’t my church n e more [via the death of romanticizing].

Classixx seem like 2 chill bros who didn’t ‘scale’ in2 EDM-waves, but still vibe on auth post-deep-house DJ sets.

I miss the days when I’d spend the work week searching 4 danceable MP3s 2 fuel my meaningful weekends. Songs that captured the auth spirit of my carnivale spirit. Nites of authing out, getting ‘hammered’. Maybe I need ‘the sweet release’ now more than evr.

Roosevelt – Montreal

Been vibing to this pretty hard after some1 emailed it in. It seems auth to me, but I could see how some could say it is just post-retail-background-music-wave. Really launches me in2 space on a vibe rocket, though.

Roosevelt’s “Elliot” is pretty auth in a Cut Copy Free Your Mind meets chillwave vibes kind of way.

Did u ‘Free Your Mind’ for an authentic dance experience with the eternally auth Cut Cops?

Did Cut Copy always transcend every popular dance music paradigm?

Does n e 1 know if it is chill to ‘appreciate’ non-EDM dance music? Like, does that make you more auth? If you ‘get’ PC Music, are you more auth? Or is all dance music 2 scalable to be auth [via every1 can relate2 it]?

Should all of these bands just ‘be robots’ and ‘become the next DaftMau5′ so they can ‘win Grammys’ and get mainstream approval?

The title track off Classixx “Hanging Gardens” feels auth.

Check out “Fax From the Beach” (conceptual vibes) and “All You’re Waiting for” (bloghouse dance / post-DFA vibes).

As we continue 2 build auth, I encourage you to embrace, challenge, ‘object’, and accept what is actually auth.

Auth is yours.
Auth is mine.
Auth is not scalable.

Is auth only ‘guitar based’?
Is auth only ‘post-lofi’?
Is auth ‘more artsy’?
Is auth ‘100% unscalable’?
Is auth just collecting ‘all things that weren’t scaled’ in the past ~2.5 years?
Are some bands ‘only auth’ for like a song?
Is ‘auth’ more like a playlist of mp3s but not artist dependent?
Can lofi-dance make a bloghouse revival?
Or are all of those ‘young producers’ ‘making EDM’ and ‘trying to write the next song abt vibing out [via on a Tuesday] on a Tuesday’?

No but srsly, did u vibe 2 these songs or what?

Why did the scalable indie media get so mean?

Damn. Have u read ‘indie blogs of yesteryear’ lately? Feels like they got pretty harsh. Like, they sort of created this entire crop of artists, ‘scaling them’ into notoriety, now they are just sorta trashing them / abandoning them / no longer able to ‘scale‘ them or ‘scale’ based upon them.

I’m so glad to be out of the mudslinging game. One minute, you are ‘trashing’ an indie celeb of yesteryear… The next, you are ‘promoting their new album/track’ / writing a #longform feature about ‘the state of their career.’

Why do all of these scalable indie websites have to ‘shame’ him?
Shouldn’t they just be posting feminist/tolerant/’this piece will make the world a better place’ thinkpieces?

U gotta respect Win Butler for ‘doing whatever he wants.’ I heard he just chills hard in New Orleans now and goes 2 mad auth house parties. Not sure what happened to Regine/the baby, but you gotta respect his authness if he ‘went off the deep end.’

Can u respect any1 who says they are ‘in2 indie’ after watching this garbage?

I’m not sure if coolness is having courage 2 do what is right, or if auth is just ‘going off the deep end’ and ‘doing whatever u want’ [via Nothing Matters].

So harsh to my man Win Butler. Dude is probably just vibing on beer and desserts. Nothing wrong with that.

It’s so weird that ppl are ‘still into’ ‘discussing’ things on social media and ‘valuing the medium’ as a representation of reality.

Is it chill that Win Butler ‘gained weight’ and still goes hard on the basketball court?
Or are you sorta worried abt his knees?
Should the scalable indie media sorta chill out and be more tolerant?
Is ‘indie’ now just ‘alt rock’ 2 youth culture?

Don’t hate on Win
Just because he is the king of scaling indie
and becoming a millionaire artist bro [via ‘the dream’]

It’s so great to be auth so I am tolerant of everything in an ‘I don’t have time 2 pretend that everything I say is the solution for humanity’s problems.’
It’s so great 2 not be dependent upon social media 2 ‘scale.’

It’s great 2 be in this ‘off the grid’ community that values alternative media.
Ppl who know that there are no ‘trolls’, there are no social justice warriors, there is no version of the world that ‘the whole world’ deserves 2 believe in [via a universal message {via religion}]

So maybe we should all
Just eat ‘whatever want’ and auth out.
Even if authness means we gain a bellie for a while.

Bellies will come and go [via life]
Except if u keep eating
Sometimes in life u just have to auth out on a premium salad with locally farmed mixed greens that were never ‘in a bag’

It’s great to no longer be a part of the scalable ‘formerly indie’ but dependent upon scalable trends media.
It’s great to be ‘free’ and realize that ppl who ‘share links’ and ‘thoughts’ in scalable social mediums are truly netstreamer ass idiots.

I feel so free.
