    carles, it’s me, the worried contemp conformie. i like this music it’s p chill to have on while you blaze a bowl or brew some organic tea. this music will never scale in my third-tier city. my city is in the middle of ‘gentrifying’ some spots here and there. every time i go out i am always underwhelmed with what the market has to offer. lamestreamers/raging close knit group of friends who are ‘kinda’ auth/top 40 vibez with nostalgia mixed in. i’m exhausted and scared. should i be ‘more involved?’ to bring more auth vibes to the places i go and ‘have a drink at? should i play jamie xx at the bar next time i go? help me bro

    The xx are one of the main representatives of a mini-movement that was counter to the drum/guitar ta-ta-ta-ta-ta of The Strokes. Anyone who was following the progression knew the next thing had to be quieter and less crowded. The xx are are still somewhat current. Coexist was awesome.

    Dunno about putting a crown on his head or anything, definitely dig his stuff. I can understand people calling him approachable/safe/scalable, its undeniably a consistent and enjoyable album. It gets a little too zz with Stranger in a Room for me. The Rest
    is Noise more than makes up for it. I was also really impressed when I
    listened to his bonnaroo set.
    I like having 4 on the floor stuff that is not raverwave.
